FYB OF THE WEEK

Stage Voice: Hi, I'm from Stage Voice. Can we get to know you please?

Araba: Hello! My name is Araba Oluwatomiwa. I am a fourth level student of the Department of Dramatic Arts (OAU),  currently majoring in Acting. I am an excellent VOICEOVER ARTIST.

Stage Voice: Hmmm. Wow! This should be interesting. Do you mind telling us your date of birth?

Araba: No, I don't. I was born on 13th  of August.

Stage Voice: So tell us, how has it been from your 100 level days till now?

Araba: I really cannot believe I am in my fourth year now (5years ago seems like yesterday)  because, It has been quite a process of learning and unlearning. Working with different people excites me. The harsh days and beautiful days of learning comes with the package though and I just love every bit of it.

Stage Voice: Do you mind sharing some of the harsh days as well as the beautiful days?

Araba: Uhmm...talking of harsh days, managing my engagements and commitments with so many things in and outside campus plus my engagement here in drama productions which has a way of straining me although this has drilled and is still drilling TIME MANAGEMENT in me.

Every day knowing I am studying my choice course of study is beautiful. But to go specific, I would say days I have that privilege to learn something new (this started from my Induction until this present moment) I really celebrate all my initiators with none exempted Peter Joshua, Esho, Jolade, Mechi , Philip, Niyi, AOS, Hulbert and all. The members Awo Versity have also been of great impact to me in my stay here. Thank you all.

Everyday with my class mates La' confluenza are such beautiful days.. such beautiful people with different dimensions of personality...Days on stage performing. And days I have the privilege to impact others.

Shout out to Sui generis and this current initiates. These are a few of my beautiful days.

Stage Voice: So what are your plans after school? Do you mind sharing?

Araba: Further my study. And work on some projects along side.

Stage Voice: Okay. So who did you wish you had worked with during your stay here?

Araba: Well none, because I achieved working with all I would have wished I worked with.

Stage Voice: And who was the best person you had worked with?

Araba: Well everyone of them had great  impact in me.

Stage Voice: So why major in Acting?

Araba: I am obsessed with it.. it's what I love, and it's what I am here to learn... Moreso it fascinates me whenever I stumble on a depth of it  (Thanks to Dede).. ACTING IS DEEP!!!

Stage Voice: Awwww. And were you ever tempted to major in any other part of the Theatre at any point?

Araba: Well yes... With the influence of those I look up to, who thought acting is my comfort zone and sees me as a prospective director. Although they were sincere but ACTING IS DEEPER THAN ANYTHING WE KNOW AND I INTEND EXPLORING ITS DEPTH BEFORE ANYTHING ELSE.

Stage Voice: Okayyyy, this is out of the blue but do you feel it's right for a man (husband) to acquire properties in both himself and his wife's name while the woman acquires hers in her name alone?

Araba: It depends on the individuals, what they want and their level of trust for each other..(I say no more)

Stage Voice: Really?! What about you? What would you want?

Araba: I am quite aware of the various point of view as regards relationship and marriage, and also considering this issue in question which has caused so many problems in the world but my ideology about marriage is strictly scriptural, which is God's point of view. Gen 2:24: Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh. EMPHASIS ON ONE FLESH.. so first every ownership mentality is cancelled which affects both parties (man and woman)

Eph 5:28-33 explains the duties of each party Husband Love your wife as Christ loves the church. Christ gave his life for the church which is the utmost sacrifice, that means there is nothing you own that your wife shouldn't have access to if you love her. Wives submit yourself into your husband as unto the lord, (this is not just sex). Yourself means your total being which includes ideology, mindset, finances and all.. remember it is as unto the lord. But note submit yourself only to a man that is SUBMITTED ONLY TO CHRIST WITH AN HEALTHY MENTALITY RENEWED BY SCRIPTURE (not just a Christian man) or else NA GOBE OOO...

So in conclusion all I own belongs to my wife and what my wife owns belongs to me..NO OWNERSHIP MENTALLY because we are both submitted to Christ. Love does not seek itself alone. ESE OO.

Stage Voice: Omooo. You had quite a lot to get off your chest. If you could back in time to pick a school to study, would you still pick OAU?

Araba: Lips sealed

Stage Voice: Sorry for intruding but are you single, searching or ready to mingle?

Araba: Single.

Stage Voice: Lol.... Okay. Who would you like to give a shout-out to?

Araba: Shout out to my friends turn family..BAALE NOAH, AJIMUDA GLADYS, OMOPARIOLA MARVELOUS, SEGUN, VICTORIA, PASTOR to mention a few I LOVE YOU FOLKS A MILLION TIMES OVER. Shout out to my lecturers and Awo Versity members who have been of great help to me. Shout out to all my classmates La' confluenza (I would choose you guys over and over) and also to the *BEST SET OF ACTING MAJORS*, Grandeza, Sui generis, again the current initiates and to everyone who has been and is till of great help to my journey here. I am grateful.. THANK YOU..

Stage Voice: Awwww. Sadly we've come to the end of your interview, we wish you success ahead.

Araba: Thank you and Amen.. .
