FYB OF THE WEEK

ELVIS: I am Elvis Uwagbenebi Ofeoriste Uruntosanwumi Asaimago.

STAGE VOICE: who said it's not plenty? 😂

STAGE VOICE: How are you today and how is rehearsals going?

ELVIS: I am very fine. So far we are just getting started but it's going well.

STAGE VOICE: That's really good. We hope to see the best.

Tell us more about you.

ELVIS: Hmmm. If you have never heard of me you have never heard of nothing!!!

So many versions about one person. The rumors are terrible and cruel but honey, they are true!

You know what you know because I am in your mind just like God is in our minds.

STAGE VOICE: This one is "Rema"

Word!

 ELVIS: 😂

STAGE VOICE: You are someone everyone knows is really into the fashion world, so who is  your fashion inspiration?

ELVIS: I draw inspiration from the likes of Den Ola Grey, Swanky Jerry, Akin Faminu, David Tlale and lot more. But most importantly my ability to be able to communicate with Okun which I derive far more greater inspiration. Wealth and Fashion is inseparable. And these are what makes Okun.

STAGE VOICE: That's different and cool at the same time. Personally, I like.

ELVIS: Thank you.

STAGE VOICE: Is there anything in the fashion world you wished would come back?

ELVIS: Our freedom and promotion of our rich cultural inheritance. If we look deep there's more richness in our heritage than we can ever imagine. And this the world is yet to find out.

 STAGE VOICE: TBH

there is so much we are missing out on but we movee!

 ELVIS: Yes we move!!😂

STAGE VOICE: How has been so far in the department since your part 1 days till now?

ELVIS: Haaaaaaa. So much to say about this. For me it's been a wonderful experience so far being here, you learn and unlearn from a lot of experiences that builds you into a strong tower when far difficult situation happens in the future.

As you know this is my final year, and I have been making earnest effort to widen my horizon beyond the four corners of this place we call "home". I have seen things and I have heard things! But I have been able to learn to extract energy from these situations and escaping with my dignity and sanity intact.

STAGE VOICE: Which is a very good thing to do. Because...

 ELVIS: Things dey occur.

 STAGE VOICE: Mad mad😂

So as a directing student, in your experience and opinion, what does it take to be a good director?

ELVIS: Well for me directing comes with flexibility, attitude, being decisive and being able to see things beyond the usual so your creation can be distinct and original. You must be ready and able to build people, and be ready to Work!!!! Sometimes things don't go as planned but when you persevere turning all your "NO" to "ON" you keep pressing Onward.

STAGE VOICE: I'm sticking with the "turning all your 'NO' to 'ON' …"

 ELVIS: Yes baby.

STAGE VOICE: What is the most challenging thing you have/had to face as a director?

ELVIS: Limiting my creativity because of budget. Ohh that stuff is traumatizing!

STAGE VOICE: I feel you ! And it's not easy at all.

Hopefully everything will get better.

 ELVIS: Yes!

STAGE VOICE: How important is the entertainment industry in today's world?

ELVIS: The entertainment industry is moving!!! Despite it's recent setbacks and restrictions due to the Covid 19 pandemic but still it's moving. If you find your circle, you gain prominence and you have a voice... You are bound to succeed.

 STAGE VOICE: Hmmm

That's good. I hope everyone is taking notes.

Where do you see yourself in 10 years from now?

ELVIS: At the top by God's grace. One of the things I am grateful for is day to day progression. Truly at some point in my life I was scared!!! What happens after school??? I had that thinking in my head, I plot out plans if worse comes to worse. But considering my recent advancements, darling I am just getting started.

STAGE VOICE: The world awaits your great awesomeness!

We are getting to the end of this session and that been said So how do you want to be remembered in the department?

ELVIS: In positive ways. Just as one needs water to quench taste we all need each other. So I do not hesitate to give a helping hand whenever I should. Yes I can be tough sometimes and this has brought all sort of names. In all I want to be remembered for good in the hearts of good people.

STAGE VOICE: I'm sure those that will remember you for good will surly do.

Lastly do you have any thing to say or advice for every Dasaite?

ELVIS: Yes ooo. Time and space wouldn't permit me to say everything here but something I must say is we need to learn how create bridges rather than walls. Rather than breaking people down with negative comments let's learn to build people up. Let's learn, forgive, love, develop ourselves to be the best versions of ourselves.

On the other hand, I would love us to awaken that interest of wanting to do when it comes to rehearsals as project plays rehearsals have started. It's quite understandable that the pandemic had effects on us and everyone is running to nowhere in particular. This is what we do! Let's finish it up!

STAGE VOICE: Thank you for your time Sir Elvis hope to talk to you some other time.

 ELVIS: Thank you.

 STAGE VOICE: Byeeeeee!!
