FYB OF THE WEEK - FEMALE
Stage Voice: Good evening, welcome to Stage Voice. Please, can you tell us about yourself?
Rayo: My name is Motunrayo Bamiduro a part 4 student of Dramatic arts majoring in Costume designing. I'm someone who loves to try on new things and basically get creative.
Stage Voice: Can you share with us why you chose Costume and not any other major?
Rayo: Well, I chose costume designing as my major because I wanted to try something new. If you knew me from part 1, you would definitely know I love reading and I prefer books but as time went by I discovered that there's more I could do beyond reading and my majoring in costume designing can help me to bring out that part in me.
Stage Voice: Amazing 😊, Do you have any business you are into presently?
Rayo: Yes,I'm into fashion designer.I sew, style and design.
Stage Voice: Can you tell us about your fashion brand?
Rayo: It's just a work in progress .Taking it one day at a time.
Stage Voice: Can you tell us how your passion for fashion was developed?
Rayo: It was born out of what to do with the covid break and that was when I started learning tailoring.
Stage Voice: How has the fashion process been with your academics?
Rayo: Not easy I must say,But majoring in costume has really helped my creativity. Then also, I'm in school first because I am a student, so for now, my priority is my academics.
Stage Voice: Great , can you share with us your thoughts of Dramatic Arts students in their treatment to Costumes during production ?
Rayo: I'd say *we* , as I'm part of the students, are not treating our costumes well as we ought to but with time and more enlightenment on the importance of our costumes, we'll understand.
Stage Voice: How do you think students can get enlightened on this?
Rayo: By being informed of the importance of costume and how to maintain it.
Stage Voice: Can you tell us your favourite costume design for the AMVCA and why you like it or them?
Rayo: I don't have a particular design that's my favorite because everyone brought their best to the red carpet but I have some notable ones I'd like to mention which are: Osas' dress- VEEKEE JAMES outdid herself on this one. Toke Makinwa's dress- Have you seen the BTS of this dress from sculpting to painting, Breathtaking! Tiannahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! That woman is an embodiment of talent! What!!!!!!!!!!!! Using sack to create an aesthetically pleasing dress.
Stage Voice: Amazing 😎, Do you have any fashion designer that you admire at a lot ?
Rayo: Yessss. A whole lot! Valdrin Sahiti, Tianah, VeekeeJames, Prudential Atelier, Precious (PAFA), Mochelle, to mention but a few.
Stage Voice: At the beginning of our interview, you said you like reading , so if not costume and makeup, what will you have chosen as your major?
Rayo: Criticism.
Stage Voice: Why Criticism?
Rayo: Because of its theories.
Stage Voice: What is your life after Dramatic Arts going to be?
Rayo: My life is not in my hands. I follow what the Lord has for me.
Stage Voice: God will lead you to the right path by his grace. Thank you so much for your patience, Any last words of advice?
Rayo: Proverbs 3:6 In all thy ways acknowledge him (GOD) and he shall direct your paths.
Stage Voice: Enjoy the rest of the semester ☺️
