FYB OF THE WEEK - MALE

Stage Voice: Good day, How have you been?

Patty: Been alright.

Stage Voice: Great to hear, What has been your experience this new session?

Patty: Well, Not bad to be honest, it’s just totally filled with final year activities like essay writing and working on final year projects alongside that overwhelming feeling that everything is finally coming to an end and everyone is trying to put in their last efforts while holding onto the fact that we have finally come to an end as consolation. But in general, it’s not a bad experience, it’s 100% expected.

Stage Voice: Great and well done , Can you tell us the expectations you had about your final year, or how did you imagine your final journey in the department of Dramatic Arts?

Patty: If you asked me this question a couple years back, I probably would have given you a lot of answers with so much enthusiasm.  I had my hopes high as regards my involvement in so many projects in my final year, I still feel this way but life has brought a couple of obstacles that needs to be balanced with education / rehearsals, Also the aftermath of this stage we are currently in needs to be considered too.

Stage Voice: Talking about Final Project, How has the preparation of your projects been?

Patty: It’s still in the process, I have a few list of ideas or concepts and I’m still weighing my options with the resources available. I will be concluding that as soon as possible. Overall, it’s going smoothly, Thank God!

Stage Voice: That is great to hear, Can you tell us about yourself?

Patty: Oh Alright, My Full name is Olagunju Taofeek Oladayo but I’m well known as “Patty”. I’m a Digital/Traditional Artist/ Freelance illustrator/Art director. Clients include: Mavin Records, Chocolate City Music, Mango Clothing Club, Zanku Records and others. I love painting, listening to music, gaming, “Food” and catching up with family and friends.

Stage Voice: You are so full of great creative skills ☺, How have you been able to do great in all this and still be active in your academics or dramatic activities?

Patty: Mozart once said and I quote, “The shorter way to do many things is to only do one thing at a time." To do two things at once is to do neither. I’ve learnt to concentrate all my thoughts and attention upon any work i have at hand. It’s either I’m working full time or I’m fully active in theatre activities. I schedule time for work and when to stop receiving commissions to fully focus on theatre activities. Sometimes, I find myself using the nights to paint and the day for school activities. It’s different for everyone, you just have to figure out what works for you.

Stage Voice:HmmπŸ€”,  How has the experience been for you?

Patty: It’s not easy, I won’t lie to you. Sometimes I wish it didn’t have to be this way, You’re forced to turn down some jobs or abandon certain projects to focus on your grades, or work extra hard than normal to balance things out. When you look at it from the bright side, it helps with Self growth.

Stage Voice: Truth, it makes you become strong and able to overcome any challenges. What field of study did you major in how you are in your final year?

Patty: I’m currently majoring in Media.

Stage Voice: Can you tell us why media and not acting because we know you to be a great Actor?

Patty: Alright, this is a secret between the two of us, Time management! Also, asides acting and the rest, I’m to a good extent skilled in Post-production and it’s one of those things I do enjoy doing at my leisure. It’s also an opportunity to explore the world of cinema. A second choice? Why not?

Stage Voice: πŸ˜‚Your sercet is saved, it is very good to explore other things in life. Do you plan to  focus on the world of cinema after school ?

Patty: Hmmm, it’s part of my other plans, if I eventually do, I’ll be focusing on either Special Effect Make-Up or Video Color grading.

Stage Voice: This is very amazing, we have seen the beautiful pictures you have created on people in the department, and we would like to ask if you learned this painting skills or if it was just something you knew how to do?

Patty: It’s a God given talent. It’s the easiest thing for me to do and I’ve been doing for as long as I can remember.

Stage Voice: You are really great at it. Well doneπŸ‘, At this point, I will say we have come to an end of this interview, but I must say it was very much great talking to you, and thank you for sharing inspiring words.😊

Patty: You’re most welcome.
