ENTREPRENEUR OF THE WEEK – MALE

Stage Voice: Good day. From Stage Voice. Good to have you here.

Emmy Kay: I'm super excited to have you too

Stage Voice: Can you please properly introduce yourself?

Emmy Kay: My name is Oni Emmanuel Oluwakayode, a 200 level student of the Department of Dramatic Arts, Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife.

I hail from Imesi Ile, Obokun local government of Osun State, I'm also the current Assistant-General Secretary of Federation of Ijesha Student Union, OAU Chapter

I own a brand named EMMY KAY multi concept, where we provide our service to satisfy humanity. I'm into photography, I sell 3½ shorts, gaari, crayfish, and planning to launch fresh vegetables soon.

Stage Voice: Jack of all trade.

Emmy Kay: Yes we just have to do everything to survive. πŸ₯°

Stage Voice: Wow. Do you deliver the garri and vegetables?

Emmy Kay: Yes sure πŸ’―, my delivery time is better 6 to 9pm and you can also get it in class. Although vegetable is not yet available but very soon.

Stage Voice: How do you make your services known?

Stage Voice: As a business owner, are there any challenges you face with customers?

Emmy Kay: Hmmmmmmm, I started by taking my business to classes and inform each of my classmate about my product, I didn't stop. I go around Fajuyi Hall and Awolowo Hall with my products and inform them any evening I have the strength and I collect their contact and remind them every week to patronize my brand and God is strengthening me. I also use my WhatsApp which is my office, I send farewell message and reminder to all groups I am to patronize my brand.

Stage Voice: Another question?

Stage Voice: What are some of the challenges you face as an entrepreneur?

Emmy Kay: Hmmmmmmm, customers words are frustrating atimes but I don't have to talk just to protect my brand name.

Stage Voice: Will I be able to do business like this with my bad attitude? 😭

Emmy Kay: Hmmmmmmm, there's nothing impossible by the grace of God. All you have to do is pray, listen to good advice when they're informing you of your wrong doings, and try to change, also have someone that you can not neglect his/her voice when correcting and all is well. πŸ’―

Stage Voice: How do you balance academics with business?

Emmy Kay: Hmmmmmmm, combining academics with business is not easy but with the grace of God, I'm balancing it. πŸ™

Stage Voice: So much insight on what it entails to having a business. I am really blessed.

Stage Voice: Do you have anyone you look up to?

Emmy Kay: As how mentor or sponsor?

Stage Voice: Mentor, sponsor, might be a celebrity.

Emmy Kay: My No 1 mentor and sponsor is God and my parent. My mentor in the theatre industry as an actor is Bukunmi uwashina and as a cinematographer Goodboy visualsπŸ’―

Stage Voice: They are both graduates of our prestigious department. Did you know that?

Emmy Kay: Yes, sure.

Stage Voice: Last question

Emmy Kay: Alright go on

Stage Voice: What is your stand on abortion being illegal in Nigeria?

Emmy Kay: I will say it's still not right, why not use protection instead of killing destinies God has designed to be great in life. For some people, God has planned it that it's their first fruit that will bring them riches but they've killed the glorious destiny.

Medically, some people have lost their lives and some lost their wombs, so why are they doing something that will ruin their lives and I just pray they understand early Because some will be regretting what they've used the early stage of their life to do when it's already late.

Stage Voice: Thank you so much for that insight.

Stage Voice: It was a pleasure having you here

Emmy Kay: You're welcome 😊❤️ Thank you so much πŸ™
