ENTREPRENEUR OF THE WEEK – FEMALE
Stage Voice: Hello, Good day. I am from stage voice. Can you introduce yourself?
Tife: I'm Ogunmiyiwa Boluwatife Titilayo by name, a student of Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU). Department of Dramatic Arts and also a Part-one student.
Stage Voice: Nice to meet you, Boluwatife. A happy new year to you. Can we get a little more insight into who you are especially your life outside Pit theatre?
Tife: Wish you the same. Okay...Firstly, I am a Christian, also a fashion designer and have already love to go into business not just because of the profit we make in business but the impact we lay down for the present generation and the yet to come.
Stage Voice: That’s so cool. Since when have you been a fashion designer?
Tife: From my secondary school days....but then when I started I wasn't serious and now I can proudly say I am a fashion designer with academic structure.
Stage Voice: Why fashion designing of all businesses you can venture into?
Tife: Hmmmm....deep question. Literally.... African parents’ mindset as driven a lot of children into some choices they might never think of doing. So in one word my parents’ idea and choice of work get me into it and later I have no choice than to do it.
Stage Voice: But you enjoy it now, right?
Tife: Yes, I do.
Stage Voice: That’s nice. So what is the name of your brand?
Tife: Tife clothing
Stage Voice: Has your academics affected your business in any way?
Tife: Yes... cause recently I haven't been able to stabilize the two together...but this year both will go in order.
Stage Voice: I hope so too.
Stage Voice: As a business owner. Are they any challenges you face? With costumers.
Tife: Yes....but any challenges you face is expected because no matter how add one try as a business Owner you can't satisfied all your customers. But just do your best 💯
Stage Voice: Can you share one of your experiences?
Tife: Just a little misunderstanding between us concerning the materials we use nah wetin cause but not all customer are the same....but if you should understand the kind customers you have I think you shouldn't have a problem with them.
Stage Voice: Yes understanding your costumer is key.
Stage Voice: So can you say that this business has help boost your financial capabilities to an extent?
Tife: Yes and no cause sometimes your expectations from your customers can break you down and might not even get the profit you are expecting.
Stage Voice: Can you explain better?
Tife: Yeah what I'm trying to say is that sometimes our expectations from our customers are actually low and might actually be what you're expecting from them at that moment and are the other hand it might be favorable to the business. So to me it's a yes and No.
Answer
Stage Voice: The business world is so challenging 😥
Stage Voice: Any advice for people like me that want to go into business 2024?
Tife: My advice to anyone going into business is that whatsoever you find yourself doing weather big or small or any type of business just do it with all you have and with a positive mindset of it going beyond your expectations. Also they will be ups and down but one thing to keep one going we can do all things through Christ that strengthen us and that one day my brand or businesses will be known.
Stage Voice: Well that’s a great advice. I am really learning a lot from you
Stage Voice: Another question. In the fashion design industry. Do you have anybody you look up to? Anyone with impeccable style that you admire?
Tife: Yes...I have role models when it comes to fashion designing industry.
Stage Voice: Can you mention a few?
Tife: Timaya on Instagram.... and my boss sha
Stage Voice: Timaya??? I would have never guessed.
Tife: laugh emoji
Stage Voice: So last question. If you had a chance to change anything what would it be?
Tife: My sense of reasoning when it comes to business.
Stage Voice: Can you explain further?
Tife: The reason why I said that is because basically like when I entered into business my mindset was that I only want to be doing business because of the money not to show how important my brand is and I will be sewing for myself but now my mentality about it has changed.
Stage Voice: Well. That’s good to know.
Stage Voice: Thank you so much for that insight. That’ll be the end of the interview. It was a pleasure having you here.
Tife: Same here. Thanks for having me.
