DASA ENTREPRENEUR OF THE WEEK - FEMALE
Stage Voice: Good morning Gloria
How are you doing?
Gloria: I'm doing good, thank you
Stage Voice: It’s a pleasure to have you here
Stage Voice: Can you please introduce yourself?
Gloria: Pleasure is all mine
Gloria: My name is Gloria Audu, a student of the Department of Dramatic Arts, OAU
Stage Voice: Audu ?
That’s not a very common name
What state are you from ?
Gloria: I'm from Kogi state
Stage Voice: Well now I can say I have met someone from Kogi state in my life. Because na like only Igbo and Yoruba people Dey ife
Stage Voice: So Gloria , can you tell us a bit about your business ?
Gloria: Ok, my Brand's name is Kremaze. I sell Tigernut milk of different flavors and fruit juice.
Stage Voice: So if I want apple flavored tiger nut I can get it?
Gloria: No, I haven't tried that before.
Gloria: There are others like pawpaw, vanilla, chocolate e.t.c
Stage Voice: That’s good
Stage Voice: I think I want the apple flavor though
Gloria: I'll let you know when it has been tried and tested
Stage Voice: I’ll check back
Stage Voice: So how did you come up with the idea of making tiger nut. Is it a skill you have always had or you just woke up one day and decided to learn?
Gloria: I got the idea from friends of mine seeing I like anything that deals with food and drinks, and I then decided to learn.
Stage Voice: Friends that inspire
Stage Voice: You said you are from Kogi state but I have conversed with you before and your Yoruba is good
Gloria: Yes.
Stage Voice: Did you learn from your time in ife or you knew it before?
Gloria: My state of origin is Kogi State and I'm from the Igala tribe. But I was born and brought up in Ibadan.
Gloria: I only listened to people speak Yoruba and try to speak as well.
Stage Voice: Well that actually explains a lot
Stage Voice: Back to your business
There must surely be ups and downs
Taste testing?
Dealing with costumers
Gloria: Yes, a lot of ups and downs.
Even though I get sales there are still issues.
For example, our country and increasing prices on same products. Electricity issues spoils production and many other things.
Stage Voice: Inflation of price is an issue on its own
Stage Voice: Can you share any experience you have had with a customer ?
Gloria: Well, there was a particular costumer who bought a bottle of tigernut milk from me. She told me she has never tried tigernut milk before and when I tried explaining what tigernut is and she was just looking at me confused. But she bought from me just for first experience and she gave a good review. That gave me this idea that only few people know what tigernut/tigernut milk is.
Stage Voice: We love a good review π
Stage Voice: So Gloria
Can you say this business helped improved your financial capabilities to an extent??
Gloria: In a way, it did
Stage Voice: I have another question? <This message was edited>
Gloria: Do I have the answer? π
Stage Voice: You remember in secondary school
Teacher or Lawyer which is more important?
I’m posing the question to you
Gloria: Teacher
Stage Voice: Can you give more insight to your response?
Gloria: Without a teacher, how did the lawyer get to be?
No one learns/grows without being taught.
Experience teaches
Books teach
And then humans teach.
Stage Voice: Solid point
Stage Voice: Thank you for sharing your opinion
Stage Voice: Since teacher won that round
Next question
Stage Voice: Lawyer or Doctor ?
Gloria: Doctor
Stage Voice: You must have something against lawyersπ
Gloria: I do not π
Stage Voice: Last question for today
Stage Voice: Doctors or Teachers ?
Gloria: Teachers
Stage Voice: On what basis?
Gloria: A teacher taught the doctor before he became one and a doctor also teaches as well.
Stage Voice: Does the teacher not need a doctor to maintain a good health and be able to live a good life?
Gloria: Does the doctor not need a teacher to be able to perform his duties?
Gloria: A doctor that has never been taught what and how will kill someone
Stage Voice: Small question you are already changing it for me π
Gloria: Never in my dreams
Stage Voice: You can argue ooooo
Gloria: I was aspiring not to be a lawyer ππ
Stage Voice: Well thank you very much for your time Gloria
It was a pleasure having you here
Gloria: Thank you and the pleasure is all mine
