FYB OF THE WEEK

Stage Voice: Good Evening😌,  I am stage voice. Can I get to know you, please?

Valendra: Good evening. My name is Akinola valendra, the speaker of Dramatic Arts Students' Association.

Stage Voice: Wow,Valendra, can you tell us what inspired you to go for that position?

Valendra: Well, I have been in the DSRC since 2019 and I have always been inspired by former speakers and politically inclined individuals to be a Speaker because I believe a lot can change and I'm glad that the journey towards POSITIVE change has started.

Stage Voice: It is very inspiring, and I am happy you were able to achieve that, so how have the journey in Dramatic Arts been for you?

Valendra: It's been fun, stressful, crazy and more.

Stage Voice: What can be described as your most fun times in Dramatic Arts, and can you pls explain?

Valendra: Most of my "fun times" are actually during rehearsals because I get to bond with people and just be goofy.

Stage Voice: Hmmm😊, so what is your major, and why did you choose it?

Valendra: I'm majoring in Stage management. To be honest, I don't have a special reason for choosing it. If not dance, it's stage management and that's why I pick it plus I am very good at it.

Stage Voice: That is great. Have you have been an SM for any past director or for a production that you enjoyed working in?

Valendra: I have been a Stage manager for a couple of dance productions and I'm currently working on a play and I am loving it?

Stage Voice: 😊, what is that thing you love doing in the theatre  and why do you love it?

Valendra: I love dancing. I never get tired of dance rehearsals. I love it because it makes me feel good whenever I'm down.

Stage Voice: Awwww☺️; was dance something you learnt in Dramatic Arts or from whom have you learnt it?

Valendra: I have always been dance inclined even before I became a theatre student.

Stage Voice: So what was the most challenging level in Dramatic Arts?

Valendra: 100 level, because I was still learning how to balance initiation, classes and my private life?

Stage Voice: How can you describe your initiation process?

Valendra: It was draining at first, then bearable, then fun towards the end. The coordinators were strict but at the same time, most of them were nice people.

Stage Voice: Will you say initiation is a very important process every student should pass through?

Valendra: Yes,it is very necessary for one to undergo initiation. As much as it is a learning process, it is also a bonding process.

Stage Voice: Hope you are all hearing oo🧏, So who was your favourite Coordinator?

Valendra: My favorite coordinator was Faith, she was the calmest coordinator one could ever have.

Stage Voice: That is so lovely and heartwarmingπŸ€—; Do you have any advice for your junior colleagues?

Valendra: I would just say, do what makes you fulfilled and try to bring positive energy in your space. Life is too short.

Stage Voice: As the speaker of the Association, do you have anything to say to encourage Dasaite to be more active in political affair?

Valendra: To be honest, no matter what I say, some people are still not going to be politically involved in the Association but I put it to all Dasaites that it is important to be involved in the politics of DASA and hold people accountable when things are going haywire so that you know how your money has been spent as well as fighting for the good of your classmates and yourselves.

Stage Voice: Dasaite, you have heard from your speaker. So Valendra... we have come to the end of our interview. It was so nice having you here.πŸ€—☺️

Valendra: Thank you for also having me

Stage Voice: Enjoy the rest of your final year☺️πŸ€—

Valendra: Thank you so much πŸ₯°
