DASA ENTREPRENEUR OF THE WEEK
Stage Voice: Hi Aduragbemi
Aduragbemi :Good evening
Aduragbemi : Can I be free pleaseπ
Lol
Stage voice : Yes very much
Stage voice : It’s nice to have you here
Stage voice: Can you please introduce yourself?
Aduragbemi : My name is Oyebanji Ezekiel Aduragbemi popularly known as E.A Graphics… I’ll prefer just E.A, because I’m a man of different dimensions… a 300lvl student of the Department of Dramatic Arts, OAU
Stage voice : I definitely know you a lot more now
Stage voice : One thing I’m very interested in is your work. Can you tell me a little about your life as a graphic designer?
Aduragbemi : Yeah!π
Aduragbemi : Wow, long storyπ
Stage voice : Just a little. Please na.
Aduragbemi : So let’s cut it short, it all started as a boy who loves to draw and create stuffs… lol transiting into creating digitally and no more paper and pencils but now with softwares… so basically the journey as a graphics designer, started 3 years ago.
Stage voice : You have been at this for a while ooo
Aduragbemi : We sef Dey tryπ
Stage voice : Na you ooo
Stage voice : Who are your motivations in this industry. Female or male?
Aduragbemi : A lot of people ooo… the likes of MiideKraft (a graduate of this department), Tola Alabi, Oba Afolayan (also a graduate of this school)… a lot of people that I cannot even mention.
Stage voice: I actually know a few especially Mide
I have seen some of your works and I must commend you. You're doing a good job.
Stage voice: So can you tell me about the challenges you face as a graphic designer and a student of Dramatic Arts?
Aduragbemi : Ehn ehn π π
Thank you!
Aduragbemi : Ahh, let start from you battling with deadlines clashing with rehearsals… also working tirelessly and clients paying less to the value you are giving out… pressures here and there…. See ehn, pressure dey ooo!!!πππ
Stage voice : Pressure plenty Abi?
Aduragbemi : Hmmm, Let’s just leave it like that… lolπ
Stage voice : Talking about clients
Have you ever had any bad experience with a client that almost made you question your choice of work?
Aduragbemi : Yes, a lot …
I can still remember how I so much battle with inferiority complex and many clients took advantage of that… Designing for clients, who rejected my work, decided not to pay me and still make use of the design. Also, designing free works here and there for people who are not ready to pay me for my work… or even threatening me that they can also design … omoooh… I’m not saying free work isn’t good, you can volunteer for organizations to build your portfolio but not at the expense of the problems you solve which can fetch you money…
It is well
Stage voice : But I believe all these are in the past
Stage voice : E.A to the freaking world π
Aduragbemi : By God’s grace!!!
Aduragbemi : The world is not ready!!!πππ
Stage voice : Another question?
Aduragbemi : Let’s go!
Stage voice : What are your thoughts on sex before marriage?
Aduragbemi : Lol… why do they need to or want to? But it’s fine sha. So I’ll actually answer according to God’s plan and purpose, God’s design… let the bed remain undefiled for the fornicators and the adulterers will be judged by God (Heb 13:4-6), so sex is only meant to be held in the confinements of Marriage…
No long talk
Stage voice : I totally understand
Stage voice : It is a very controversial topic so they’ll be a lot of opinions
Stage voice : One more question?
Aduragbemi : Normal!!!π π
That’s just mine
Aduragbemi : Okay?
Stage voice : How do you feel about LGBTQ being illegal in Nigeria?
Aduragbemi: Is it illegal or legal nowππ
Aduragbemi: I think it’s now legal
Stage voice : My bad I just made my findings and it is legal
Stage voice : What are you thoughts?
Aduragbemi : God have mercyπ π π …
Aduragbemi : It’s real o…
Stage voice : Ahhhh
Stage voice : That’s not a response ooo
Aduragbemi : And it’s also controversial, maybe not that much in this part of the world but considering it scientifically, it is possible to have affection towards the same gender ππ… yes, science actually has it’s claim , taking about hormones… blah blah. But my standpoint currently might seem religious but in God’s design still, he created them male and female not male and male or female and female… I won’t say more than this… lol
Stage voice : Thank you for that short and thoughtful response
Stage voice : Lastly what advice do you have for entrepreneurs like yourself?
Aduragbemi : My pleasure
Aduragbemi : Clears throat… it requires a lot of time to BUILD SOMETHING THAT LAST, it’s a PROCESS not an EVENT, so don’t stop…
Stage voice : Word of a wise man
Aduragbemi : Na God ooooπ€²πΎπ€²πΎπ€²πΎ
Stage voice : Thank you very much Aduragbemi
I really enjoyed speaking to you
Aduragbemi : It’s an awesome moment having this interview with you tooπ
