DASAITE OF THE WEEK
Stage Voice : Good afternoon
Eagle: Afternoon
Stage Voice : I’m from Stage Voice, can we meet you?
Eagle: Okay my name is Adesina Damilola Fadeel. Mostly known as Eagle
Stage Voice : That’s nice..So Damilola, how has the department been for you?
Eagle: Hmm dramatic arts
So far it has been a wonderful adventure, likee I'm happy to be here I come from a family of thespians so seeing what they went through and how they came to be what they are today is really huge. That aside the department has been very very tough likeee, but I thank God admist all I'm growing gradually, so I love it no matter how stressful it is π
Stage Voice : Hmmm interesting. So tell me what has been your best part of theatre??
Eagle: Acting.. It challenges my mentality, Asin the process of trying to get into character, internalizing your role, the realism you need to work on, the naturalism that has to come with it and all. It takes alot of hardwork so acting is my best part, and that feeling when I'm on stage it's indescribable π
Stage Voice : This nice. You were one of the initiates right. How was the process?
Eagle: Actually I came late during the initiation.. but the few weeks i used was Interesting
Stage Voice : Eei sorry…. So how has it been yunno merging the theory and practical aspects of theatre together
Eagle: Omo it's not easy ohh. Going from rehearsals to class is very stressful, I really wish we drama students only offered drama courses. Gbogbo Egl and PHL yii ko necessary π. I'm not really a shana like that so I'd prefer practical to theory aspect sha
Stage Voice : Hehe π. But some people prefer the theory aspect, yunno they say rehearsals can be very stressful π
Eagle: Not me ohh .. i love rehearsals alot, the process of putting things together to create magic on stage is really incredible. Class is boring... Boring courses with boring lecturers ππ€.... I didn't say that ohh π«’
Stage Voice : Hmmm.. So aside doing rehearsals, is there any other thing you do like outside the department??
Eagle: Yes I cook at home π.. whenever I'm not in pit theatre I'm at home cooking. I don't have a work for now I would have been busy with one sha.
Stage Voice : Chef deeπ¨π³. When should we be expecting your restaurant ?π
Eagle : Wow something i'm actually working on. Soon sha you would see it π
Stage Voice : Would be expecting so Damilola let me ask you, is there anything or something about the department you feel should be changed?
Eagle: Alottttt... Our department is something else entirely. No renovation at all and it's making money. The rehearsal areas need renovation
Like fine arts and all those places are really bad and too open and we do rehearsals there risking our lives... Per production there's money generated from the gate fee, where is it going? What's the business manager actually doing ??
Stage Voice : I see you really have a lot on mindπ©π. Soon
Eagle: And why does the department not have its own chairs and generator what we have to rent ... Shouldn't these things be free for the students of the department? It's just like saying medicine student are renting wards to perform practicals on cardarva or whatever. And we have DASA executives representing the students.. what have they done?
The department are for the students so things in the department should be free for us
Stage Voice : Hmm
Eagle: How can the chairs money in the department go to one pocket alone ???? Asin how????. So I feel alot of things should be changed and corrected for really.. even the whole of dramatic art doesn't have a generator, we have to be renting.. it's very sad
Stage Voice : I think we would need to help you write a letter to the HOD π©, cause you sure do have a lot to say
Eagle: ( laughs) But for real things things are wrong
Stage Voice : Okayyyy Damilola. Are you single, married or still searching
Eagle: Ahhh I'm single ππ€²π½
Stage Voice : Do you have anyone you’re eyeing π
Eagle: Hmm yes
Stage Voice : Wanna give us a hintππ
Eagle: Ahh no ohh
You want to cast me π
Stage Voice : Okayyyy lover boy. Anyone you want to give shout out to??
Eagle: My brother from another mother Ezeifule Emmanuel,
He has been the realest of the realest gee likee.
Likeee Emma has been a blessing to me on this campus, so my shout out goes to Ezeifule Emmanuel π
Stage Voice : Brotherhood … We have come to the end of your interview, it was nice talking to you.
Eagle: Thank you
Stage Voice : You’re welcome
