DASA FYB OF THE WEEK

Stage Voice: Hi, I am Stage Voice, please, what's your name?

Temi: My name Madariola Temilomo Olaoluwakiitan.

Stage Voice: How are you doing and how is your final year project and rehearsals going??

Temi: I’m good! Asides from the written project I have to do and also chasing your lecturer to approve whatever you have written, everything is fine.

And the money Media students have spent this semester πŸ˜‚ I’m great!

Stage Voice: πŸ˜‚ Good to hear. So how have your experience been in Dramatic Arts?

Temi: It’s been on and off honestly. There is any specific moment that is always fun. You get to work with different people and making the right decisions that suits you perfectly.

Stage Voice: Alright... So in regard of making decisions, do you mind telling us why you chose Media??

Temi: I chose media because I honestly wanted to learn more about editing and handling of Cameras. Low key, I have always had a thing for cinematography.

Plus it was new and different from the regular thing we have always been taught in Pit theater.

I love acting too but I wanted something

different! I also love theater Management, but I did some part of it in year 1-2.

Stage Voice: That's very good, it is good for us to go for something new and different to bring out hidden potential.

So what was the play or that person you worked with that you wish you can again?

Temi: Ife Faleye play Son’s and daughter .

And Adesuwa’s play For COLOURED GIRLS

I would love to work with Faleye again and again and ESHO’s mini projectπŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚I had to speak Yoruba all through.

Stage Voice: He must have been a wonderful Director☺️

Temi: Yes he is.

Stage Voice: How has been your experience in your major, Media?

Temi: It’s been really interesting

My MINI project was an eye opener to so many things.

Stage Voice: What are the things your mini project open you eye to?

Temi: How to take different shots and achieve different angles while shooting.

Stage Voice: That great, After you graduate do you plan continuing your education like going for masters or any other thing?

Temi: Yes I do.

Stage Voice: That very great, Will it be on Media or you plan doing something else?

Temi: Something else.

Mostly likely Business Management or Project Management.

Stage Voice: I mean what you will like to focus on after school.

Temi: I have not decided yet.

Stage Voice: Alright, So apart from Theatre what do you love doing?

Temi: I sell lingerie/ PJ/ men’s underwears.

I enjoy working with startup  brands to come with ideas (more content analyst).

Stage Voice: That very great ☺️

What do you think about women in Media?

Temi: There are lots of women in Media

You know media is broad, so it depends on

the area you want to specialize in

We have female Photographers that are doing well

Even cinematographer too

Although, there is this “THING” in this part of the country that might not appreciate female photographer.

But when you get your craft well and you give your client the best result they want

Nobody would care  if you are a female or male

Same goes with other Majors.

Stage Voice: Alright... So lastly, do have any advice to give to your junior colleagues that are interested in Media?

Temi: I don’t have any advice ohπŸ˜‚

My own is, do what suits you

Don’t let anyone pressure you

And if it’s Media you want! Do it without regrets.

Stage Voice: Thank you so much for you time and I had a great time talking to you.

Temi: Thank you for having meπŸ₯°.
