Stage Voice: Hi, I am from Stage Voice. How're you doing?
Jane: Hi Im Jane. Im good
Stage Voice: It's nice meeting you, Jane. Do you mind being our DASA Entrepreneur of the Week?
Jane: And you too. Ill be glad to
Stage Voice: Oh that's nice...
Stage Voice: So tell us about your business, Jane. Like what do you do?
Jane: I run a Tie and Dye brand, Adire by Jane. Aimed at bringing colorful style to every wear from shirts to materials to caps, everything except underwear. I also offer revamp services in which you bring old clothes and with my designs, give them a colourful feel. Its currently an online store. I also run an online jewelry store for male and female.
Stage Voice: Wow, you run a tye and dye brand and also run an online jewelry store for both male and female? That's nice.
Stage Voice: So how it has been managing these businesses?
Jane: Its been quite nice...a bit stressful coupled with the school stress. But I enjoy it, we thank God.
Stage Voice: Alright... that's cool... So how have you been juggling these businesses despite having lots of practicals and books to read?
Jane: It has not been easy, sometimes I have to forgo one for the other but my customers satisfaction is one of my biggest motivations and the pay...lol
Stage Voice: Omo... Na money be the koko abiii
Jane: [Laughing]
Stage Voice: So why tie and dye? Why run an online jewelry store? Like what motivated you to start doing these businesses? Is it that they are lucrative or what? Kindly share, please.
Jane: I actually started the Tie and Dye business two years ago during the lockdown as a distraction. Then I got an order and the person liked it. I was inspired to turn my hobby into an avenue to make money. I wanted to do more, so I thought what can go well with with tie & dye and jewelry came to mind. They are both lucrative.
Stage Voice:: Hnmmm... "so you were inspired to turn your hobby into an avenue to make money. That's fine. So the lesson we can learn here is that we can actually monetize our hobby... that is, what we like doing?
Jane: Yes exactly...you end up enjoying what you do
Stage Voice: Good Now, if someone wants to learn this tye and dye business, have you gotten to the level where you can teach people?
Jane: Yes I have...I actually recently taught some people and the results were impressive
Stage Voice: You've really grown in this businesss Nice one
Jane: As I should [Smiling] thank you
Stage Voice: Youre welcome... so being a tye and dye maker and having an online jewelry store, have these changed your financial life to some degree?
Jane: Yes it has...running a business does that to anyone.
Stage Voice: Alright... Even though these businesses are lucrative, there are some negative experiences you must have had. Please, kindly share.
Jane: Yes of course...theres a down side to almost everything Well there was this one time someone made a bulk order and wanted a sample, the style was simple and chill everything was going great but the dying process kept messing it up. I later realized the dye was bad after many trials but it was too late...the shirts were still banging though.
Stage Voice: That's very sad... Like you said, there's a down side to everything... All these experiences sharpen one's understanding.
Jane: It was o Yeah it does
Stage Voice: Alright... So how have the students in the department contributed to the growth of your business?
Jane: Yes they have I’m so thankful for some of themπ€
Stage Voice: That's great… So enough of the serious talks… Are you any in relationship? And secondly, who are you currently crushing on in your department?
Jane: No I’m not… And no, there’s no crush.
Stage Voice: Hmmmm.... Hard to believe tho
Jane: Lol...why not
Stage Voice: Smiles... If you say you're not in any relationship, no problem π π
Jane: Hmmm… okay
Stage Voice: Before we come to the end of the interview, who'd give your shout out to?
