FYB OF THE WEEK

Stage Voice: Hi, I'm from Stage Voice. Can we meet you please?

Toyosi: Hi Stage Voice, my name is Toyosi Ogundusi. I am a part 4 student of this department.

Stage Voice: That's nice, Toyosi... So you're stylishly telling us you'll be leaving this department for us very soon?

Toyosi: Ah…je kon mo! When ASUU & State Government finally let my people go sha...

Stage Voice: Don't worry, God'll intervene. So, Toyosi, do you mind sharing your date of birth?

Toyosi: Her Royal Majesty was born on the 11th day of the 4th month of the year. Cram it because I go drop wishlist o.

Stage Voice: [Laughing] It's the royal majesty for me.

No cap, you too proud 😹

Toyosi: [Laughing] It’s the Blue Blood speaking.

Stage Voice: Blue Blood indeed... so how has been from your 100-level days till now?

Toyosi: Omooooooo…Na God dey run am.

Stage Voice: Hmmm... Na true...  Cus this department choke..

Toyosi: No cap

Stage Voice: It will turn out fine... so what are your plans after school?

Toyosi: Well, most of it is still unfolding, because life is unpredictable. But I definitely see myself still in the Arts and Entertainment line having a good go at things.

Stage Voice: So that means one day one day, we go see you in one of Kunle Afolayan's movie?

Toyosi: By God’s grace oo and more sef. He’s actually my favorite Nigerian director. I should have held on to the helm of his Jacket when he came to OAU then... I was actually in ‘Citation’ in a large cast scene.

Sam: Kunle is doing great.. don't worry I see you becoming a major character in his film, better celebrate grace, it's not easy..

Toyosi: Thank you jare. If you get beta connect no kala for me o.

Stage Voice: No yawa now... so what's your major?

Toyosi: Eiiiii….I’m proudly an ACTING MAJOR ooo!

Stage Voice: Acting mama 🙌

[3/14, 8:54 PM] Sam: Why choose acting?

[3/14, 9:00 PM] Toyosi: Becauseeeee… Acting is my first wife. I love the art of being able to shape-shift into different roles 👑 it’s really engaging and interesting. It’s like a super power being able to become another person and kind of live their experiences without the consequences.

Stage Voice: Hmmmm... Nice one at that

Stage Voice: So what current productions are you involved in?

Toyosi: I’m in Ojopagogo Damilola’s mini project “Altine’s Wrath”, and Seyi’s (thegoodboy) “Restless run of locusts”. I’ll also be making a voice appearance in Akinola Victor’s “A slap on hope”.

Stage Voice: This is amazing... So who was the best person you had worked with during your stay here?

Toyosi: Eiii…omo, people dey o but let me narrow it down. I loved loved loved working with Ife Faleye, and Dare Jude.

Stage Voice: That's amazing... so who do you wish you had worked with?

Toyosi: Hmmm… funny enough, I don’t actually have one because I never really thought about it. I just go with the flow of whoever I find myself working with.

Stage Voice: Alright... This is out of the blue but what do you think about "Legalizing Abortion" in Nigeria?

Toyosi: Lol…controversial question. Incase you aren’t aware, the highest percentage of unsafe abortions take place in developing countries. Instead of playing the “Ignorant Card” why not create a better system instead of acting blind to it.

The smartest way to even reduce the rate of abortions is to make very effective contraceptive awareness amongst the populace. It’s not only about making it safe, it’s about reducing the incidence in the first place. Let’s get real.

Stage Voice: Hmmm... Insightful so, Toyosi, if you had a chance to go back in time and pick a school to study, would you still pick  OAU?

Toyosi: See… be like say na every school get craze for this country. Let me just do and get out abeg.

Sam: Hmmm hmmm.... Toyosi, are you single or in a relationship?

Toyosi: For me to know for you to find out

Sam: You are evading the question [Smiling.]

Toyosi: Shey it’s important I answer directly niii?

[Laughing.] Abi you get agenda. Okay oo… I’m in a relationship.

Stage Voice: I go love oo

Toyosi: Love sweet my guy

Stage Voice: And is there any one you have a crush on in the department?

Now that you ask me this, I wonder when last I felt this rush of having a “crush” 😅😅 Anyways, Nahhh mehn.

Stage Voice: Alright, who would you give you shout out to?

Toyosi: Shout to my fellow Acting Majorsss! Shout out to my D.E Squad because we’ve come far together. Shout out to Grandeza because I came with them, and a big shout out to La’Confluenza because I’ll be leaving with them.

Stage Voice: So we've come to the end of the interview. We are glad to have you here

Toyosi: Awwnn…thank you. Bye Stage Voice, thanks for having me.

Sam: You're welcome
