DASAITE OF THE WEEK
Stage Voice: Good evening I’m from stage voice, do you mind if we interview you?
Samuel: Okay na, let's do this.
Stage Voice: It’s already nice to meet you please kindly introduce yourself.
Samuel: I'm Ogbodo Samuel. A budding filmmaker, I write and direct screenplays and stage plays. Hard work doesn't bother me. I like everything I do to be well-organised. And I'd also like to add that, I get along well with amazing people.
Stage Voice: A creative, of all these things: writing, film making, stage plays. And all of that, do you have a favourite?
Samuel: I really can't say I have a favorite amongst all of these because I find joy doing all of them combined. Just like hot knife through butter, all these work smoothly with me and I cannot pick one over the other. They're all on the same scale.
Stage Voice: Hmmm that’s really nice. So what do you think about the department and how it has effect on these things that you love doing?
Samuel: Yeah. Over the years, I've come to see that the department is making efforts to build enterprising creatives. I just think that as usual in every organisation they are one, two or many loopholes over here which should be looked into to make things even better. Well, the department is a starting playground for me to develop on these things I love to do, I made some of my firsts here. So all thanks.
Stage Voice: All true, so what are the areas you think we need amendment?
Samuel: A few touches here and there for our all round development and we are good to go.
Stage Voice: anyone in particular?
Samuel: Developments or amendments should be evenly distributed, one part must not be larger than the other.
Stage Voice: If one part is larger than the other? …..that being said we would like to know what you think about DASA as an association?
Samuel: I think the association is still on the path to find its clutch. A matter of time and with conscious efforts, we'll just be right up there where we should be.
Stage Voice: You must really believe in them, do you think all dasaites think this way?
Samuel: Well, I can't say. But any dasaite who wants well for the association must think that way and in one way or the other will try to contribute their quota to the development of the association.
Stage Voice: Words of a wise man, what would you say to the people going through the Induction process?
Samuel: I've been there, done it and didn't regret. Learn everthing you can learn from the process because the knowledge will come in handy now and in the long run. I know it might look like an herculean task with striking a balance between the induction process, your personal time and your studies but you'd be happy with yourself and your e-portal at the end of this semester if you get it right now. This is because as a student in the department, you will certainly be doing a job of balancing things up, the higher you go the hotter it becomes so figure it out early.
Stage Voice: Thank you so much... So how has this semester been to you?
Samuel: Going well with my plans for it until the ASUU strike, hope is not a strategy for me but at this point I must say I'm hoping everything ends well as planned because I have little or no way of effecting the strike for it to be called off.
Stage Voice: I pray it all works well to. Goodluck.
Samuel: Yeah, thank you.
Stage Voice: Thanks for sparing time for us, have a great week ahead?
Samuel: You're welcome.
