DASAITE OF THE WEEK

Stage Voice: Good morning, I'm from stage voice. Do you mind if we interview you?

Malo: Good morning. No, I don't.

Stage Voice: Please, introduce yourself.

Malo: My name is Akinwale Abdulmalik Obafemi.

Stage Voice: Kindly tell us more about yourself

Malo: I am  the One of the two Spirits of Pit Theatre, food-loving individual, a big lover of the ARTs, eloquent grammar and Philosophy.

Stage Voice: Hmmm, two spirits?

Malo: Yes. A spirit now an ancestor bestowed the title upon Boateng and Myself.

Stage Voice: Lmao okay o, as a DASAITE what was your first impression about the department?

Malo: WONDERFUL.... In every sense you can think of. Either being Optimistically or pessimistically.

Stage Voice: And now?

Malo: Still the same.

Ifedolapo: Oh okay, so tell us what you think about the current initiation process?

Malo: From what I see, I feel it's going to be one, a blast; and two, a great avenue for the Initiates to learn.

Stage Voice: So much hope in them I see. What have you noticed about the department that needs changes?

Malo: The need for us to be more involved in activities that help to hone our academic abilities... like inter-level debates, or perhaps inter-department.

Stage Voice: Hmmm that’s another dimension, what about the students' administration? What do you think about it?

Malo: So far, the administration has been a good one. They truly are investing all their resources towards the betterment of the association and department as a whole.

Stage Voice: You seem very observant, what would you change about the administration?

Malo: Nothing yet... I feel for now they doing quite well.

Stage Voice: Okay so enough of the serious talks, what’s life like outside Pit?

Malo: It's very basic. 'I'm a shy person' but I  am an extrovert in familiar spaces.

Stage Voice  You mean you don’t have a life outside Pit Theatre?

Malo: As I said it's very basic.

Stage Voice: Oluwa o… Professor Malik are you a part of any production apart from your class projects?

Malo: Yes. Some part 4 Mini projects and three proposed Commercial performances.

Stage Voice: Hmmm so we should anticipate?

Malo: Word. 100%

Stage Voice: Okay boss, so what advice do you have for the part 1 students?

Malo: A wise man once said: "One man can never have it all"  Therefore, relax. You can't  know it all but try as much as possible to learn what you can.

Stage Voice: Oshey wise man

Malo: Kpk [Laughing.]

Stage Voice: Thanks for sparing time for us. Have a great week ahead.

Malo: Thank you for having me.
