DASAITE OF THE WEEK
Stage Voice: Good morning, I am from Stage Voice. Do you mind if we interview you?
Elebute Blessing: Yes ma
Stage Voice: Can we get to know you, please?
Elebute Blessing: My name is Bayo-Elebute Blessing.
Stage Voice: Nice to meet you, Blessing. Please tell us more about yourself.
Elebute Blessing: Oookayyy, let me see.
I am a Dramatic Arts student. I love reading, watching plays, movies, listening to music, dancing, playing too... And yes, I love Kpop and Kdrama. I also see myself loving acting.
Stage Voice: Nice how has Dramatic Arts been treating you so far?
Elebute Blessing: Omoo, I can't say it's not stressful but then, it has been nice having to work with different people, bond with different people and all. Dramatic Arts is a place of exploration o.
Stage Voice: You must really be enjoying it, how do you cope with a lot of people on productions. People can be annoying you know?
Ellebute Blessing: I enjoy it. I guess I'm the type of person that loves to study people cos we all can't be the same, and yes, people can be really annoying, we just have to keep it cool. But sometimes it's better to let it all out.
Stage Voice: Cool, I’m sure a lot has changed since you entered the department and now, kindly share your experience.
Elebute Blessing: A lot of changes o. Starting from induction process. Jogging is not as effecient as it used to be then. The feeling of sleeping and waking up with your classmates then, omoo. Or when we will be sleeping anywhere sleep can find us, be it staircase [Laughing.] I enjoyed dance rehearsals then, even during final year project, we had like 8 dance majors... Omo e choke o
Stage Voice: Lol I guess things are moving with time, so how do you see the department now and what change do you think we need?
Elebute Blessing: I guess we have a lot of adjusting to do. Our cyclorama needs upgrading, e fit fall for person head. Then we need working bathrooms and toilets, because this going to bush ehn... We need a dressing room where we can change from and to our rehearsal gears.
Stage Voice: Thank you very much. I’m sure you’ve spoken the mind of most DASAites.
Anything you’ll have to say to the people going through the induction process?
Elebute Blessing: I'll love to tell them that they can do it. We believe in them. They should take care of themselves; body and mind. They should keep the energy and they should know that, they will be part of a bigger family. It doesn't end in the induction process, the training goes on and on. Fighting(in Korea).
Stage Voice: Thanks for sparing your time for us. It was nice getting to know you.
