Stage Voice: Hi, I am from Stage Voice. Can we get to know you, please? 

Emmanuel: Alright, my name is Emmanuel E ziefule. I am a freshman in the Department of Dramatic Arts, OAU. I love acting. 

Stage Voice: Nice so you just love acting or there’s a backstory to it? 

Emmanuel: Actually I love acting cause I get goosebumps each time I see how professionals act on stage. And I like the collective effort and all. 

Stage Voice: Have you seen a staged play in Pit theatre before?

Emmanuel: Yes, a lot. Project plays, Induction, etc. 

Stage Voice: Is there a particular one that fought for your attention? 

Emmanuel: Yes, last year induction play. 

Stage Voice: Nicee talking about liking collective effort, how do you see the initiation process? 

Emmanuel: Really tough oooooo. Ahhhh. God will help us

Stage Voice: [laughing.] 

Emmanuel: But you guys should take it easy sha. This stuff ain't easy. Especially juggling a lot of work. 

Stage Voice: I heard the coordinators are being really soft with you guys tho... 

Emmanuel: Yeah compared to the way I saw them last year. 

Stage Voice: So you enjoy the rehearsals or there’s a particular one you like? 

Emmanuel: I actually enjoy dance. I enjoy play also. But not a fan of the Osao part. But i still love all tho. But mostly dance. 

Stage Voice: Oh wow this is unusual. Most sets hate dance. Can we know why you are more interested in dance?

Emmanuel: There is this energy that pops up once I hear the drums to just dance

Stage Voice: That’s really nice to know. Okay so what’s OAU like outside Dramatic Art? 

Emmanuel: Hmm fun, real fun. Still looking forward to what I can do. Like fun sha

Stage Voice: I guess you don’t really do much then.. So back to Induction, do you have favorites among the coordinators or it’s just a military thing? 

Emmanuel: Hmmm yeah I do. I have favorites: Victor, Waliu, Stephen, Female dance cords, Tilalo – play director, those are my gees. 

Stage Voice: You must really have a lot of favorites…so please tell us how you manage time with classes and rehearsals? 

Emmanuel: Omo honestly I've been really busy

It's been tough. I make use of my night times mostly. And its not easy always. But we will b fine

Stage Voice: Eyah ..what advice would you give the batch B? 

Emmanuel: Well I'll tell them it's not easy but if they really wanna pass through this process they should swallow whatever pride they have and come down to a level that they are ready to learn if not they will have a whole lot of issues. Also God will help dem this is a funny friendly advice.

Stage Voice: So you’ll go the gentle man way, must be nice

Emmanuel: Hmm... yeah i think [laughing.] 

Stage Voice: Thanks for having us and welcome to Dramatic Arts, good luck.

Stage Voice : Hi, How are you doing? Janet : Been good jare thanks Stage Voice : Great, how has your experience been as a fresher of Dramatic Arts? Janet : It has been fun, tedious and stressful. At first, I didn't like the way things were but later on I fell in love with the stress. I really love the initiation part, it wasn't easy but it really grinded me. So far Sha I'm loving it. Stage Voice : What was your best part of the initiation process? Janet : The overnights 🥰🥰🥰. For our set, overnight rehearsals weren't allowed but the coordinators had to do it secretly just for us to catch up on things and because of that the coordinators were kinda nice and very playful during this overnight rehearsals that we do. Although it was draining then, we use to look tattered and stressed, most of us even lost a lot of weight and we were not even eating well but the joy and gladness was there. I love to read novels written by Nigerians, I like to think of myself as peaceful but I don't mind violence either,  I try to be an honest person.
